Please Daven for Besoros Tovos
Please daven for Sima Guta bas Nesha, mother of an Aneinu member, for besoros tovos on test results done tomorrow, Tuesday.
Update on Reuven ben Tova Chaya
From Reuven's aunt:
Hi everyone. The last time I posted on Reuven was back in June. You have all been so kind in continuing to ask about him and daven for him. I wanted to update you as to the current situation. A couple weeks ago, Reuven started a new protocol treatment which involved chemo and some experimental drugs therapy. Today, was going to be the second round of that protocol but before they started, Reuven has a scan this morning to check on his existing tumor. Much to everyone's dismay, the tumor grew despite the chemo he has been getting. Baruch Hashem, it has not spread, but it was not the news his parents or any of us were expecting to hear. The doctors told them that due to the growth, they could not longer continue this protocol treatment, meaning the chemo was not doing the job it was supposed to be doing. In her usual manner of keeping things "normal", Tovi took Reuven home from the hospital and brought him straight to school, which he very much enjoys.
We are all anxiously waiting for what's next...what the new treatment option will be for Reuven. The situation is serious and Reuven needs our Tefillos. Please continue to pour out your hearts for him in your davening and mitzvos. Hashem is listening and little Reuven needs a Refuah Shleima Bmheira.
Forever thankful,
Rivkie

From the Chicago grandparents:
Our 8 month old grandson is having heart surgery tomorrow morning, November 30, at 9:00 CST in Los Angeles. It's a three hour surgery and we would appreciate any prayers you have and wouldn't mind sending to Shamayim. I guess we're at crunch time. So if you have a minute or two,
His name is Adam Shalom Raphael ben Margolit Nachama.

TODAY Thursday November 26 20009 special time for PRAYING tefila/davening !!!
This coming Thursday (November 26th) the 9th of Kislev is a very special time where the gates of tefilot are wide open and Hashem is hearing, accepting and answering our prayers! Like the Ramban wrote: "the 9th year on the 9th month at the 9th hour of the day is a time of happiness and grants from Hashem" and you should know, adds the Chesed L'avraham, "this time is very appropriate for success and is a pipe to bring upon ourselves abundance and redemption."
This very special moment only comes around once every 7 years so we must get ready for it and take advantage of the opportunity granted to us from Hashem. Therefore it is important we take the time to pray and ask Hashem for all we need and desire in a clear and detailed way. In order to do so, we must prepare ourselves and put on paper what is the most important to us so that we can ask it clearly on this very special moment.Israel from 1:43pm to 1:56pm
New York from 2:07pm to 2:55pm
Los Angeles from 2:15pm to 3:03pm
Miami from 2:44pm to 3:42pm
Chicago from 1:56pm to 2:47pm

tehillim update plus Please read what the Steipler said about such tefillos and may we only share simchos including the ultimate simchah of Moshiach
We regret to inform you that adira boltshauser (adira chana bas shes a”h) passed away last Tuesday, Rosh Chodesh Kislev.
Her newborn baby is B”H making progress ---Please keep on davening for her. Rochel Adira Chana bas Adira Chana , shticha
KEEP PRAYING
Over the past several weeks we sent out alerts asking everyone to pray for various special individuals who were extremely ill.
Unfortunately, we were not able to report good news and Rabbi Gross, Mottie Borger and Adira Boltshauser z”l passed away. YZB TNTBH
Please read what the Steipler said about such tefillos and may we only share simchos including the ultimate simchah of the coming of Moshiach—May He come speedily in our day!
*************************
When praying on behalf of someone who is seriously ill, and whose condition appears to be worsening, there is a tendency to grow despondent and to be overcome by a feeling that one's prayers are for naught—Nothing could be further from the truth. The Steipler Gaon once enumerated five areas in which such tefillos achieve significant accomplishment:
a) The tefillos may very well diminish the patient's suffering to some degree.
b) The tefillos may extend the patient's life by a few months, weeks, days or even a few hours. Even a moment of life, said the Steipler, is of inestimable value and is more precious than gems.
c) Our Sages teach, "Even if a sharp-edged sword is resting upon a person's neck, he should not refrain from beseeching the Heavens for mercy" (Berachos lOa). There have been many instances where, through the kindness of Heaven, someone who was gravely ill experienced a full recovery.
d) Even if the prayers effect no change at all in the patient's condition, they still are a source of merit for him, since all those who prayed aroused Heavenly compassion through their prayers, which were uttered because of him. These merits will stand by him in the World to Come and may also protect his offspring in the future.
e) These prayers can bring salvation to other individuals and to the community as a whole. At the End of Days, when all will be revealed, we will learn how each tefillah uttered by each individual brought about great goodness and salvation (Toldos Yaakov, p. 118-119).

Special Psalms for Gilad
The chief rabbi noted that, according to Kabbalah, the 13 minutes between the hours of 1:43 pm and 1:56 pm(Chicago from 1:56pm to 2:47pm) on Thursday have unique qualities. He called upon the public to take advantage of this occasion to read psalms for Gilad's rescue. "With the power of prayer, we can open the heavens and be worthy of our heart's wishes being granted – that Gilad will light the Hannukah candles with his family."

Cooking on Shabbos – A HOT Topic
The Orthodox Union’s prominent Poskim, Rav Yisroel Belsky, Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshiva Torah V’Da’as, and Rav Hershel Schachter, Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshivas Rabbenu Yitzchok Elchanon, focus on issues of practical halacha related to cooking on Shabbos: How do I use a blech? How do I heat up food from the fridge? What is the proper use of a crockpot? Are there any limitations on using a conventional oven? Questions were drawn from e-mails sent in by YOU. Tune in and be awed and enlightened! Recorded live on November 17, 2009 at OU’s world headquarters in New York, NY.
