To: Myysbyy@aol.com

This choleh, Yitzchak Chaim ben Sarah,  has been on the Chicago Aneinu cholim list for many years. Sherry Dimarsky a"h originally put him on the list. He has suffered one tragedy after another. Please join us tonight for Tehillim to daven for his refuah shlema.

Dear Ladies,
Thank you so much to everyone who came on the conference call last night and who davened for my father. Boruch Hashem, the doctors are calling the surgery a success and my father is home. He will be evaluated tomorrow and, bezras Hashem, everything  will continue to go well and his eye sight will return to normal.
But our work is not done.
As you can see from Natasha's email below, Yitzhak Gitlevich needs our tefillos once again. We will have emergency tehillim for him tonight, at the same time (9:30pm) and on the same conference #.
Chaya Miriam Wolper has graciously agreed to lead us in Tehillim tonight.
Here's the dial in #:

Please reply  to my email  and let me know if you can join us on the call at 9:30pm tonight. May the merit of this call bring a refua sheleima to Yitzchak Chaim ben Sarah and may all of cholim in Klal Yisroel have a refua sheleima b'karov.
Thank you!!

THIS IS THE EMAIL I RECEIVED FROM NATASHA:
Hi Elisheva,
 Please forward the following information.
I am writing with some bad news about Yitzchak Gitlevich.  Last night we discovered a new brain mass which has been causing him a lot of headaches and vision problems.  He immediately went to Mayo Clinic and is being admitted there today.  The plan is to have a brain biopsy tomorrow and hopefully have a diagnosis by the end of the week. Depending on the diagnosis, he will likely require intense therapy.  I want to ask everyone to daven for him for a refuah shleima.  His name is Yitzchak Chaim ben Sarah.
Thank you,
Natasha

[chicago-aneinu] Buy Israeli Goods on November 30th!(TODAY)

Dear Chicago supporters of Israel,

On Tuesday, November 30, anti-Israel activists plan to demonstrate and call for boycotts of stores that sell Israeli products. Their targets are stores that carry Israeli goods like Ahava, Sabra, Osem, and . Boycotters have been energetically lobbying other stores across the country to drop Israeli products, from local co-ops to Costco and Trader Joe's. Even locally in Chicago there is a call to boycott Sabra Hummus from Depaul University!

The pro-Israel, pro-peace community urges you to join a counter campaign. We are making November 30 a BIG (Buy Israeli Goods) Day. Let us show anyone that calls for boycotts of even one or two stores, that it will always be met with a much larger counter-movement to buy Israeli goods.

StandWithUs and the America-Israel Chambers of Commerce calls on schools, college campuses, synagogues, community organizations, and individuals to designate Tuesday, November 30, as the day to actively Buy Israeli Goods. Go to your local stores and request Israeli products. Whenever a boycott is called, respond by purchasing the very Israeli goods that are being targeted and let store managers know they should keep them well-stocked on the shelves.

We urge you to visit your local Jewel, Garden Fresh, Trader Joes, Costco, or your favorite place to get Israeli wines and treats and BUYCOTT the boycotters!

Join us on November 30th to Buy Israeli Goods at the Jewel on Howard (2485 Howard Street, Evanston IL) From 5-7 PM and receive a FREE Buy Israeli Goods Button!

Also, to support this initiative, Dreidels & More, Chicago's most comprehensive source for Israeli Judaica and gift items, will help you choose beautiful and meaningful Israeli-made goods -- plus donate 15% of your purchase price to Stand With Us, an organization dedicated to bringing peace to the Middle East through education and information.

This special offer will begin Nov. 30 and extend through Hanukkah (Dec. 1-9) -- a great opportunity to do your holiday shopping and help Israel at the same time.

When making your purchase, bring this email or just mention "Stand With Us" or "boycott" and we'll happily contribute to this important cause.

Dreidels & More is located at 67 E. Oak St. in Chicago, a half-block west of Michigan Avenue. Call for information: 312-266-6620.

The holiday season is fast approaching. When you go holiday shopping, choose presents from the wonderful array of Israeli-made items, from fine Israeli wines to the high quality Ahava beauty products, Israeli jewelry, shoes and clothing lines, and of course, food. Select Sabra or Tribe hummus, great Israeli wines and Osem cookies to grace your holiday party.

We must defeat the boycotters who advocate destructive instead of constructive measures, who undermine hopes for peaceful co-existence, and whose only goal is to defame, cripple and damage Israel.

We can defeat them if we join together. The very date, November 30th, should encourage us. It comes the day after the 53rd anniversary of the UN Partition Resolution when the effort, against all odds, to restore the Jewish State was endorsed and recognized by the international community. It also comes just as Hannukah is approaching when we celebrate the Maccabees who also restored Jewish independence, and who were a few who triumphed over the many. We can do the same, and shine a light on Israel for all people of good will.

On November 30th, go shopping for Israel no matter where you live. Buy for Israel. Buy for peace. Be a big part of this BIG (Buy Israeli Goods) Day.

Shop with friends, and please take pictures or videos of yourself purchasing Israeli products, and send them to us. Make fun entries for youtube, make them positive, fun, and/or funny. Email your photos or links to your videos to big@standwithus.com.

To find a store near you that sells Israeli goods, visit www.BuyIsraelGoods.org

The BIG campaign is a partnership between StandWithUs and the America-Israel Chambers of Commerce and like-minded organizations.

To: Myysbyy@aol.com

I received the following from an Aneinu Member:

Dear Friends,
I am writing  to ask for your help. My father is having a serious eye surgery tomorrow early in the morning and I am organizing a Tehillim session for him tonight. It will be a conference call, at 9:30pm tonight.
Here's how it works:
We all call in to the conference # and put in the access code (both provided below). Then my friend, Esti Deutsch, will tell us which Chapter of Tehillim we will read together. Our goal is not to finish Sefer Tehillim, but to read 5-10 chapters together, with a united voice, storming the Heavens to ask for a successful surgery for my father.
Please have your tehillim books handy when you call in. I am not yet sure how many chapters we'll do together, but there are specific ones pertaining to refua, and those are the ones that Esti will  most likely choose.
Here's the dial in #:

Psalm Chapter 6

1. To the chief Musician for stringed instruments, according to the Sheminith, a psalm of David.
2. O Lord, do not rebuke me in your anger, nor chasten me in your hot displeasure.
3. Have mercy upon me, O Lord; for I am weak; O Lord, heal me; for my bones shudder.
4. My soul is also much troubled. And you, O Lord, how long?
5. Return, O Lord, deliver my soul. Oh save me for the sake of your loving kindness!
6. For in death there is no remembrance of you. In Sheol who shall give you thanks?
7. I am weary with my moaning; all night I make my bed swim; I drench my couch with my tears.
8. My eye wastes away because of grief; it grows weak because of all my enemies.
9. Depart from me, all you evil doers; for the Lord has heard the voice of my weeping.
10. The Lord has heard my supplication; the Lord will receive my prayer.
11. Let all my enemies be ashamed and much troubled; let them return and be ashamed in a moment.

The Eighth Foundation: We Have The Torah As It Was Received

The eighth foundation of the Jewish faith is that the Torah was given by God to Moses, who wrote it down verbatim and that is what has been transmitted to us over the generations. Every word of the Torah came from God and is equally holy, whether it’s the Shema of a list of names.

It is beyond heretical to suggest that Moses might have slipped a few ideas of his own into the text of the Torah. The Talmud in Sanhedrin (99a) says that even if one suggests that Moshe edited the spelling of a single word of his own volition, that person is considered one who despises the Torah.

In the Ani Maamins, this foundation is phrased, “I believe wholeheartedly that the Torah we now possess is the one given to Moshe.”

In Yigdal, this foundation is the line that reads “Toras emes nasan l'amo Ei-l al yad n'vio, ne'eman beiso” – “God gave His people the Torah of truth through His prophet, His most trusted servant.”

The Seventh Foundation: The Prophecy of Moses was True and Superior

( L"N FOR Azriel Mordechai ben YITZCHAK REUVAN)
The seventh foundation of the Jewish faith is that the prophecy granted to Moses was not only true, it was of a higher level than that granted to other prophets. In the last foundation, we discussed how prophets received their messages in visions. Moses was an exception. The Torah tells us that he alone was able to receive God’s word in perfect clarity. This was a pinnacle of spiritual perfection, the highest level a human being could achieve.

Moses’ prophecy differed from that of other prophets in numerous aspects: he was awake, it was not a traumatic experience, he did not require an angel to serve as an intermediary, and in many other ways. Most notably, other prophets had to wait for God to contact them. Only Moses was capable of starting the dialogue with God.

In the Ani Maamins, this foundation is phrased, “I believe wholeheartedly that the prophecy of Moses our teacher was true and that he was the greatest of all prophets, both those who preceded him and those who succeeded him.”

In Yigdal, this foundation is the line that reads “Lo kam b'Yisroel k'Moshe od, navi umabit es t'munaso” – “There has not arisen in Israel a prophet like Moses, capable of perceiving the nature of God.”

Fw: [chicago-aneinu] Caution!

This was sent to me by one of our members regarding her brother-in-law:

My brother in law went for a stress test, prior to knee surgery, but his knee was so bad that he could not do the treadmill, so they did the simulated stress test, with the contrast dye. He broke out in a rash all over, and was not feeling so well after.  Evidently wandered the hospital for hours before someone noticed him, and that he was not well. They admitted him to the ER, found his ID, and called my sister to come.  She has spent the last 3 days trying to re teach him his whole life--he does not even know her or his children or mother.

My husband's cardiologist told him that this is not so uncommon, and that sensitive / allergic people should not have any contrast dye tests. It may take several days, but IY"H, he may regain full memory. CRAZY----maybe you want to warn others.

From another Aneinu member:

My mother a'h , had the same reaction. She was like a stroke victim. She said she knew what was going on in her head, but could not move or verbalize... Bh.. It lasted a day or two and she was perfect after. Since then I always warn doctors. So far, I don't bh have same reaction. She had hers taking a milogram for back surgery. I agree that people should be warned!!

[chicago-aneinu] PA Rock Attacks Continue; Victim in Serious Condition

Please daven for Yiftach ben Hemda.
by Maayana Miskin

As Palestinian Authority Arabs continue to attack Jewish drivers in Judea and Samaria, one victim has already been partially blinded and remains seriously hurt.
PA militias carried out multiple attacks along Judea and Samaria roads on Friday and Saturday. A rock attack was reported on Saturday night between Kiryat Arba and Hevron; no injuries were reported.

Earlier on Saturday, Arabs hurled firebombs at an IDF guard station near a Jewish neighborhood of Hevron. The soldiers were not hurt, and managed to capture two of the attackers.

On Friday, a Border Police officer was hurt as PA Arabs and foreign supporters rioted near the community of Neve Tzuf in the Binyamin region. The officer was hit by a rock and suffered light wounds.

This past Thursday, a resident of Rachelim, in Samaria, was badly wounded when a Arab gang threw heavy stones at his car as he drove near the town of Shilo. One rock hit the front windshield and smashed into the driver's head.

The man underwent a 12-hour operation on Friday to repair damage to his skull and jaw, and remains in a medically induced coma and on a respirator. Doctors reported that the attack caused him to lose sight in one eye.

His family and friends have asked the public to pray for him using his Hebrew name, Yiftach ben Hemda.

The Sixth Foundation: The Words of the Prophets are True

(L"N SHLOMO BEN MORDECHI AND L"N FOR Azriel Mordechai ben YITZCHAK REUVAN)
The sixth foundation of the Jewish faith is that God communicated with us through His chosen prophets. The prophets were humans – they were not supernatural in any way – but they achieved a high level of spiritual perfection so that they were able to receive special insights directly from God. (We see in Tanach that there were schools for prophets, so it was actually something to which one could aspire.)

There were levels of prophecy, just as there are levels of intelligence. Not all prophets were equally “connected” just as all smart people are not equally intelligent. The prophets received their prophecies in visions and trances, in metaphors whose meanings were likewise communicated. (We see this many places in Tanach, from Abraham and Jacob to Isaiah and Daniel.)

In the Ani Maamins, this foundation is phrased, “I believe wholeheartedly that all the words of the prophets are true.”

In Yigdal, this foundation is the line that reads “Shefa n'vuaso n'sano el anshei segulaso v'sifarto” – “He granted a stream of His prophecy to those He selected, who reflected His glory.”

Fw: [chicago-aneinu] Please Daven - Surgery

Please daven for one of our cholim, Yaakov Shmuel ben Gittle, who will be having serious surgery on Monday at 12:30.
Psalm Chapter 20
1. To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.
2. May the Lord hear you in the day of trouble! May the name of the God of Jacob defend you!
3. May he send you help from the sanctuary, and strengthen you out of Zion!
4. May he remember all your offerings, and accept with favor your burnt sacrifice! Selah.
5. May he grant you your heart's desire, and fulfil all your plans!
6. May we rejoice in your salvation, and in the name of our God set up our banners! May the Lord fulfil all your petitions!
7. Now I know that the Lord saves his anointed; he will answer him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.
8. Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.
9. They are brought down and fall; but we shall rise, and stand upright.
10. Save, Lord; the king will answer us on the day when we call.

1.Why do we do seder Kadshim there no more Bais Hamikdash it is not relevant nowadays? The Samag answers learning not just lemase but learning for the sake of learning. The Medrashim answer when you learn through hilchos korbanos it is like you brought a korban. The Zohar answers when you learn seder kadshim the malachim dont say bad about a person. The Chofetz Chaim answers when you learn seder Kadshim in a group no harm comes to a person and the Chofetz Chaim says a 2nd answer when you learn seder Kadshim your Emunah is strengthened Mashiach is coming we are preparing for Mashiach.

2.The Chinuch says when a person cares about somtheing he puts in effort a korban requires effort exerting ourselves to come close to Hashem it is as if we brought a korban

3.The Poskim ask a kohen brings my korban shelo lishma does he have to compensate me yes by a nedavah but not an hara zu

4.Shimon and Azaria had a Yisacar Zevulon relationship Rav Moshe says a Yisacar Zevulan relationship is a business partnership not tzedakah so all rules of business partnership apply here. The Poskim say if Zevulin is fulfilling his part but Yisacar not fulfilling his part Zevulan still gets sechar. The poskim also say it does not need to be a 50%-50% relationship.

5.The Poskim ask can you learn eiun on shabbos they answer yes you can

OU TARYAG MITZVOS MITZVA 91. Above the Fruited Plain: The obligation to separate and deliver first fruits

(L"N SHLOMO BEN MORDECHI AND L"N FOR Azriel Mordechai ben YITZCHAK REUVAN)
The finest of your first fruits you shall bring to the house of God (Exodus 23:19)
Bikkurim were the first fruits to ripen on a tree of one of the special species of the land of Israel. (There are seven such species, singled out in Deut. 8:8: wheat, barley, grapes, figs, pomegranates, olives and dates. Of course, not all of them grow on trees.) These first fruits were one of the special portions given to the kohanim (priests). Those who lived near Jerusalem would deliver them fresh, but those who lived far away from the Temple would dry them for the journey.

The bikkurim were given to the kohanim on duty the week in which the owner delivered them. They had to be delivered in a vessel and, since they were terumah (a priestly gift), non-kohanim were not permitted to eat them. The laws of bikkurim only applied to the produce of Israel (including trans-Jordan) and Syria, not to produce from other lands. (Syria was a territory captured by Israel in the time of King David and was made subject to many laws that would otherwise be Israel-specific. Refer back to Mitzvah #84 or Talmud Gittin 8b.)

The underlying principle of this mitzvah is to recognize that all that we have comes from God. All too often, people remember to turn to Him in tough times but forget all about Him when things are going well. Here, as a person rejoices on the produce of his trees, he is to remember God and thank Him for the prosperity He has granted.

This mitzvah only applied at a time when the Temple was standing. It is the subject of the entire Mishnaic tractate of Bikkurim, but it is also discussed in the Talmud in Baba Basra 26b-27b. It is codified in the Mishneh Torah in Hilchos Bikkurim. The obligation to bring the first fruits is #125 of the 248 positive mitzvos in the Rambam’s Sefer HaMitzvos.
