URGENT! TEHILLIM 4

Rav Mordechai Eliyahu, former Sefardic Chief Rabbi of Israel, is currently in intensive care and connected to a respirator, as his condition has taken a turn for the worse. Rav Eliyahu had been taken off the respirator six weeks ago and had been breathing on his own prior to the recent relapse. He is now in serious condition.

Rav Eliyahu underwent emergency surgery two months ago at Shaarei Tzedek Medical Center in Yerushalayim, as first reported here on Matzav.com.

The 80-year-old former Rishon Letzion’s son, Rav Shmuel Eliyahu, rov of Tzefas, said that his father, when asked recently how people can help him, replied that all of Klal Yisroel should be chozer b’teshuvah.

Rav Eliyahu served as Chief Rabbi of Israel from 1983 to 1993.

A tefillah gathering in the merit of Rav Eliyahu will be held today at his bais medrash at 17 Rechov Reines in the Kiryat Moshe neighborhood at 3:45 p.m.

All are asked to continue davening for Rav Mordechai Tzemach ben Mazal l’refuah sheleimah.
