The Alshich says the Torah response to this son's unasked question appears in Shemos 13:8.Even if your child doesn't realize that this night is different from every other night,and does not ask you anything about it,with all that,"You shall tell your son on that day"that we are celebrating and why.Jweish parents must educate their children to be jews with a purpose.At the Seder,a father must tell his children,"B/c of this HASHEM did [wonders] for me when I went out of Egypt",regardless of whether the son has asked a question.To what does the father's "this" refer?It refers to what he is doing at this very moment,teaching his son that HASHEM wants us to teach our children and grandchildren about everything he did for us,even if our children don't ask.(page 162)
