Subject: Practical tips from Yona Posner for ordering groceries for d

Dear Friends,

Unfortunately, some  people are still going out of the house for shopping and errands because they don't know how to order groceries for delivery.
Yona Posner has assembled a list of methods and tips for ordering groceries. Please read this list and find a method that works for you. (We also thank Chaya Mishulvin for help in gathering this information.)
Please free to share this list.
Please stay home! If we are not going to Shul, we certainly should not be going to stores unnecessarily.
If you are not computer savvy, and can't manage to order groceries, please ask for help. We are all here for eachother!
Please note: There are many kosher establishments and services. This list is not comprehensive. We apologize in advance to any of our friends and donors who may have inadvertently been omitted. As a general rule we never use Skokie Chabad's ability to disseminate information to  give free advertising to business or organizations, we are doing it now as an unusual exception because of the current ongoing public health emergency. Please understand.
This email was written in a hurry, it does not meet the usual Skokie Chabad standard for good grammar and prose. Please excuse any mistakes or inaccuracies.

Updates to this list will be posted here:

Some tips for receiving deliveries:

· Request that the order is dropped off at your door without any contact with you.
· Dispose or Sanitize of Delivery Containers: If the containers are a one time use only, dispose of them.
· Repackage/unpack and then wash your hands after unpacking delivery!

Instacart (app) – through this app you can buy from Marianos, Jewel, GFS, Costco, Aldi and more

Many kosher products available at these stores, including Kosher for Passover. Also, there is a field to make special requests or notes. The stores available are by zipcode so if you're further out (north end of Skokie) it may shop Skokie Jewel (less kosher options).

There may be no delivery times available. That's ok. Fill your cart and check back often to see when one becomes available. Take whatever you get (3-5 days away at this point). You can add items to your cart until an hour or two before delivery, as that is when the shopper will actually start working on the order. ALSO – offer to share delivery with a neighbor or a friend, so they can also get essentials and deliveries are more available.

Postmates (app) – you can order from Hungarian, Romanian, North Shore Bakery, and some kosher restaurants

Amazon Fresh – produce, dry goods and household products. Delivery within 2-3 days. Including hand soap J

Amazon Whole Foods Delivery:
https://www.amazon.com/alm/storefront?almBrandId=VUZHIFdob2xlIEZvb2Rz&ref_=nav_cs_whole_foods_in_region delivery may be limited

Target (app) – driveup (they will bring to your car) order groceries (nothing perishable), household items, cleaning supplies, diapers, or clothes for drive-up pickup. They will bring to your car. You can ask open the trunk before they come out and have them put it there. Availability typically good but can vary. Stores are restocked overnight so best time to place order is before they open 8am.

Also possible to shop a pickup order (some perishables/frozen) – you will need to go in the store once it is  collected and ready for you to pick up:
https://www.target.com/c/grocery/-/N-5xt1aZ5zl7w?type=products&lnk=Grocery&storeIdList=3252

Target.com, Walmart.com – dry goods, canned, smaller shelf-stable items etc for 2-5 day delivery usually.
Walmart Grocery (app)  - drive up groceries –they will put in your car. (may take time to find a slot for pickup)

As the Shuls close and we are each davening as individuals without the benefit of a minyan, we present this optional tefila (prayer) to be said before davening alone, to ask Hashem that our prayers be accepted as if we are praying together in Shul, for healing of all of those infected with the Coronavirus, and for a speedy return to our Shuls and the coming of Moshiach.

Here are links to lots of great syndicated resources and practical guidance related to Coronavirus.

Click here for a free Kaddish service, for those that cannot make it to synagogue.

May G-d grant our world healing real soon, and especially the ultimate healing — the coming of Moshiach!

Make your legacy a strong Jewish future. Please consider including Lubavitch Chabad of Skokie in your planned giving.
