Q. If a shul would like to make up the missed parshiyos (even though it is not required), what is the proper manner to do this?

A. Rav Schachter said that there are two ways to read the missed parshiyos. If the congregation is agreeable, all the missed parshiyos may be read on the Shabbos they return to shul. Two sifrei Torah will be removed from the Aaron Kodesh. The parsha of the week should be read from the first Torah with seven aliyos. For the Maftir, all the missed parshiyos will be read in one session. They would then read the Haftorah that corresponds with the last parsha that was read (i.e. last week's parsha). This is because the Haftorah must relate to the Maftir. Alternatively, if it will be too difficult to read all at once, the congregation can read one extra parsha each week from the second Torah until all the parshiyos are completed. Each week the Haftorah will correspond to the extra parsha read for Maftir. These make-up procedures are not obligatory and should only be read with the permission of the congregation.
