Place of Worship Safety Advisory Team (POWSAT)
Greetings to the Jewish community of Rogers Park and the Chicago area. The Chicago Police 24th District Place of Worship Safety Advisory Team (POWSAT) would like to send a message relating that while we have not been able to spend much time in the community lately due to the Covid-19 outbreak and now with the terrible events unfolding around Chicago and the country, we have been working with community leaders to make sure everyone is safe.
Regarding the current events we cannot stress enough to abide by the curfew put in effect by the Mayor Lightfoot and we agree with the Rabbi's to not hold evening services. We also strongly recommend removing all valuables from shuls and store them in a safe place until these issues calm down. Please keep in mind that one way to keep everyone safe is if you see something, please say something. If you see a large crowd of people in an area that do not belong, please call 911.
