Agudath Israel Condemns Anti-Asian Hatred as
"Deplorable and Tragic"
The alarming increase of attacks against Americans of Asian background is disgraceful, and Agudath Israel of America condemns it unreservedly.

On Sunday in New York alone, a woman of Asian descent was thrown to the ground, another was hit in the face with a metal pipe and a third punched in the face.

Such hateful violence, and the thousands of reported -- and likely many more unreported -- incidents of verbal abuse suffered by innocent Asian-Americans over the past year must deeply concern us all. It is particularly painful to the Jewish community, which has itself endured, and continues to endure, ignorance-fueled hatred and violence.

That our country is the most diverse large nation on earth is its greatest merit and strength. Attempts by senseless bigots to mistreat Americans because of their ethnic or religious heritages are deplorable and tragic.

May we merit that the Creator guide all human hearts to compassion and good will.
Guide to Erev Pesach on Shabbos 5781/2021
It's not often that Erev Pesach falls out on Shabbos. In fact, this will only occur twice in the next 23 years!

Due to its rarity many people have questions about how to perform the usual Erev Pesach activities from biur, mechiras, and bedikas chametz, how to deal with chametz at the Shabbos seudos, to when to daven and how to do havdalah.

See here for a guide on the Halachos of Erev Pesach on Shabbos, compiled and written by Rabbi Yaakov Robinson, executive director of the Midwest Agudas Yisroel Council of Synagogue Rabbanim, and reviewed by Rabbi Shmuel Fuerst, Dayan, Agudas Yisroel of Illinois.

Scott Stringer Joins the Agudah Voting Project for a Town Hall
The Agudah Voting Project was pleased to host a town hall with New York City mayoral candidate Scott Stringer as part of its series of town halls with candidates running for public office.

Mr. Stringer highlighted how his years of experience working with government agencies in New York politics as an Assemblyman, Manhattan Borough president, and NYC Comptroller, would impact how he would serve as mayor.

Advocates asked Mr. Stringer questions about his vision for New York City and how he would address issues facing New York City and the Orthodox Jewish community there such as the economy, rise in crime, anti-Semitism, yeshiva education, quality of life, and special education funding.

Rabbi Yeruchim Silber, Agudah's director of New York government relations, said, "We would like to thank Mr. Stringer for taking the time to join us for an informative conversation. Additionally, the Agudah Voting Project would like to remind all eligible voters to vote in this election on June 22."
