Subject: [chicago-aneinu] Please Say your Tehillim on Shabbos

BS"D

Dear Aneinu Members,

How is it possible to wrap our minds around the multiple tragedies we experienced this week? The crushing loss of Rabbi Zecharia Wallerstein, zt"l, has left a huge gaping hole in Klal Yisroel, and the world feels like it will never be the same. He was like a father to so many teens and young adults, especially young women. He saved countless neshamos who would have been lost to our people, if not for his deep care and concern for every person. His whole life was dedicated to Am Yisroel, and his accomplishments are staggering. He was so real. When he spoke he often shared his past traumas, weaknesses, and struggles, and taught us to believe in ourselves and our ability to change, and to grow. He showed us how to have a relationship with Hashem, and what was really important in life. As much as he accomplished, he could have done so much more. Hashem's ways are truly unfathomable.

Then there was the stabbing of a 23 year old security guard in Ariel, Vyacheslav Golev, hy'd. Although he was murdered last Friday night, we didn't find out about the tragedy until after Shabbos. He was so young, and left behind a grieving fiancee.

Yesterday's horrific terror attack in Elad left 3 young fathers dead, 3 grieving widows, and 16 heartbroken orphans. There are also 2 injured victims fighting for their lives, Shai ben Ilana and Chaim ben Sora, and a third in critical but stable condition. May they all have a refuah shlema. I look at the pictures of the 3 murdered victims and I see faces of such pure neshamos:

Boaz Gal, hy'd, a devoted father of five in his forties, was returning from a Torah shiur when he was so brutally killed.
Oren Ben-Yiftach, hy'd, 34 years old, a devoted father of six, was returning from driving a Rav to give a shiur in Beit Shemesh.
R' Yehonatan Chabakuk, hy'd, a Breslover Chassid and devoted father of five in his forties, had gone to look for his son in the park.

Hashem came to His garden and plucked three exquisite and sweet smelling roses. You can see the beautiful neshamos of these young men in their beautiful smiles and shining faces. They were true ovdei Hashem and among the finest of Klal Yisroel.

The Talmud states, "Rabbi Yochanan says: If you saw a generation whose troubles inundate it like a river, await the coming of the Mashiach..." (Sanhedrin 98a)

Hashem, we are waiting. How much longer?

Please remember to say your Tehillim this Shabbos. B"H the days are longer now, but It is still perfectly fine to say your Tehillim on Friday night. You may check the Shabbos Tehillim spreadsheet if you are unsure which kappitlach you signed up for.
