Subject: [chicago-aneinu] Please say your Tehillim on Shabbos

BS"D

Dear Aneinu Members,

Soon we will be reliving the receiving of our precious Torah at Har Sinai, some 3,334 years ago. It is quite extraordinary that Klal Yisroel has been passing on this legacy from one generation to the next, in an unbroken chain, for so many thousands of years. We have endured persecutions, torment, oppression, and poverty, and yet we have not allowed the chain to be broken.

In the crazy and chaotic world that we live in today, I cannot imagine navigating life without this wondrous instruction manual. All we need to do is look at the society around us to realize that without this special treasure to guide us, we would be lost in a web of darkness and confusion. The fact that Hashem shared His prized possession with us is an affirmation of His great love for us. In fact, Shavuos is considered the anniversary of Klal Yisroel's marriage to Hashem, and the Torah is our kesuvah.

It would make sense that Shavuos is an appropriate time to focus on the many gifts that Hashem has given us, and to remind ourselves of Hashem's deep affection for us. The fact that the Jewish people exists at all after so many thousands of years is a tremendous miracle, and the ultimate proof of His love for us, and we are so blessed to be part of such an incredible nation. So, as we are listening to the leining of the Aseres Hadibros let us rededicate ourselves to our loving Father/ Husband who adores us and yearns to have an intimate relationship with us. Let's daven for siyata d'shmaya for our avodas Hashem to be passionate, and with joy, and that the Torah that we learn should be sweet and delightful. Additionally, let's daven that Hashem should end this long difficult galus and bring about the long-awaited geulah shlema that we have been yearning for, for thousands of years. May we all be zoche to see the revelation of Hashem's glory bimhera b'yomeinu. Amen.
