Year of Hakhel

Happy Lag BaOmer Chana!

Today we rejoice and celebrate!

In honor of this special day, learn the sichos delivered at the Lag BaOmer Parade of 5743 in this reader-friendly compilation being shared by Sichos in English.

These sichos discuss the two main themes of Lag BaOmer, the celebration of Rashbi's teachings and life and the end of Rabbi Akiva's students' deaths, and the lessons that can be learned from these events.

Here's some of the Lag BaOmer messages in a nutshell:

  1. Prioritize Torah. The holy Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai personified living a Torah life, making Torah his top priority and craft before all else. No one is exempt from working toward this priority. Especially children, shares the Rebbe, who have no worldly worries, should immerse themselves in this pursuit.
  2. Ahavas Yisroel involves more than just love. Rabbi Akiva's students stopped dying because they learned to regard each other with respect. It's not enough to give to another without treating them with respect. Included in Ahavas Yisroel is the ability to give honor and respect to every person and treat them with dignity which is highlighted further in this year of achdus, Shnas Hakhel.

Learn these sichos to get the full scope of these insightful and practical messages on this auspicious and celebratory day. May the messages of Torah and Ahavas Yisroel enhance the unity of the Jewish people bringing us to the ultimate unity of Hashem and the Jewish people with the coming of Mashiach now!
