Dear Chaya Miriam,

POSITIVE CONTENT ONLY (1) 2

These are unprecedented times. In addition to horrific tragedy, we are seeing an outpouring of chessed, giving, achdus, unity, tzedakah, charity, and even joy. We, the Jewish nation, are an incredible people. In this unspeakable darkness, we find a ways to bring so much light.

We have not seen tragedy on
this scale in a very long time, and when we last experienced it, there was no social media to fill our minds with facts and images all day long. It's just so much to take in. That is why, for this special edition of the Ner Echad newsletter, we've chosen to highlight positive content ONLY. Below you will find video clips, short articles, and photos that will shine a light on the incredible achdus, love, tzedakah and joy that is coming out of these dark days.

More than ever before, we thank you for coming together to light up the world. Good Shabbos.

"What Should I do? What Should I feel?"

So many people feel stuck right now.

They want to go back to business as usual… but they feel that it's inconsiderate, inappropriate, and just plain out wrong.

So they're stuck in paralysis… unable to accomplish anything… just waiting for more clarity with what's happening in Israel.

But here's the thing:

The best thing you can do for Israel right now is to be your best.

Perform at your peak; stay positive; achieve the extraordinary.

Terror is designed to destabilize and paralyze.

By fully living your life, you not only thwart the plan of the enemy, you give Israel, the Jewish People, and the world, the best version of you.

For your own mental health, that's the best-case scenario.

For Israel and the Jewish People, that's the best-case scenario as well.

So don't put your life on hold.

Yes, find ways to be empathetic and connected to what's happening right now.

Find your own unique way to contribute; whether that's sending money, elevating your Avodas Hashem, or trying to publicly support Israel as they defend themselves against the pure evil of terror.

But realize that the real goal right now is to be your best; because it's when you're at your best that you can give your best.

This post also really helps put our place into perspective:

One Last thought...

We don't know the reasons these things happen.  And there is so much we don't know.

But we can do our best at observing what's happening and trying to see any bits and pieces of the pattern/ message.

For me, because of the tragedy, I'm being reminded (quite harshly) that we are never truly the ones in control.

But I'm also being reminded, through seeing the response to the tragedy, that we belong to a very special and exclusive group of people, and that being a member of that group comes with incredible benefits, and I must remember to be more proud and more grateful that I am a lifetime member of that group. The Jewish People.
