Dear Friends,
Our Kollel community continues to stand with Am Yisrael during this time.
As you know, on Tuesday, November 14 there will be a national rally in Washington in support of Israel, the hostages and against antisemitism.
Our Kollel is mobilizing to connect our community with this effort.
For those who won't be attending the rally in person, we will be offering two live Torah opportunities on Tuesday 11/14:
- A live presentation with me in Washington from 11:45am- 12pm CT and
- A live shiur from Israel from 1- 1:30pm CT with Rabbi Yehuda Turetsky, Ra"m in Yeshivat Shaalvim
Both will be accessible on our YouTube page: youtube.com/kollel613.
For those attending the rally, we are providing Rosh Chodesh minyan, transportation and breakfast in the morning (all complimentary).
Tefillah will be at Or Torah at 5:35am. Transportation with Dunkin breakfast will leave from the Or Torah west parking lot at 6:45am sharp. To reserve a spot, please fill out this form: HERE (space is limited).
We are also working to arrange a complimentary lunch in Washington. To order lunch, please fill out this form: HERE (limited quantities available).
There will be time for Torah and Tefillah at the rally. We are inviting those traveling to help us make a Siyum at the Mall on Massechet Megillah - the story of our people's rescue by Hashem during a time of darkness, by choosing one page to learn by signing up HERE. We will provide each participant with their page of Talmud including an English translation.
Additionally, we are coordinating with a team of YU students to help raise funds at the rally in support of our brothers and sisters in Israel.
Upon our return we will also be hosting separate evening learning events for men and women in Chicago in support of Israel on Wednesday, Nov. 15.
The Rosh Kollel of the Washington D.C. Kollel Torah Mitzion, Rabbi Yona Budow (IDF veteran), will lead a men's Mishmar in the Fasman Yeshiva High School Bais Medrash at 8pm.
NILI will host Mrs. Tamar Friedman for a women's evening of learning at the home of Michelle Hasten (4200 Grove in Skokie) at 8pm.
Thank you for your participation.
Besurot tovot for Am Yisrael,
Rabbi Reuven Brand
