BRI PARSHA TIDBITS
"They baked the dough that they took out of Egypt, matzah not bread (chametz), for they were chased out of Egypt..." (Shemos 12:39)

Reb Noson writes that the difference between matzah and chametz is that chametz inflates and rises.

He explains that haughtiness is a most despicable characteristic and in order to leave behind our "exile" and difficult traits, the first act is to pursue humility and humbleness.

Never mind that what I encounter seems beneath my status or dignity. I want to be free of my past, of my enslavement to evil characteristics. So the first step is humility.

Then, when I realize that I am a simple human being, then I can begin to ascend and rise to become something of worth!

Have a great Shabbos!
