DIVAR TORAHS ON THE HAGGADAH 5771(2011) PART 11

Q HAD HE NOT LET US PASS THROUGH IT ON DRY LAND AND NOT SUNK OR FOES IN IT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN ENOUGH FOR US(DAYANU) THE ABARBANEL ASKS WERE THE EGYPTIANS CRAZY WHY WOULD THEY CHASE AFTER THE JEWS WHEN THE SEA IS SPLITTING AND THIS IS REALLY DIFFICULT IN LIGHT OF THE FACT THEY SUFFERED 10 MAKOS BUT THE JEWS WERE SPARED.

A HE ANSWERS THE TORAH SAYS AN ANGEL OF HASHEM MADE A CLOUD BETWEEN THE EGYPTIANS AND JEWS SO THE EGYPTIANS COULD NOT SEE THEY THOUGHT THEY WERE ON DRY LAND AND BY THE TIME THEY REALIZED THEIR MISTAKE IT WAS TO LATE TO ESCAPE.
