The State of Iowa can be brutal toward "outsiders". Mrs. Ze'eva Rachel (Wendy) bas Chaya Runge was prosecuted mercilessly for business problems created mostly by the State's own misdeeds.
After only one relatively minor charge stuck, the judge got upset and decided to throw the book at her and put her behind bars for 10 years -- with no mercy for a husband, four children, and an elderly father-in-law who depend on her care!
