
In this week's parshah, the breastplate of the High Priest is repeatedly referred to as "
choshen mishpat" - "breastplate of judgment".[1] What is the connection between this garment and judgment? Chazal understand that the breastplate atones for "dinin" - laws, or judgments,
[2] or, as Rashi puts it, "kilkul ha'din" - judicial corruption.[3]
