Aneinu Three Days of Tefillah

Dear Friends: Today President Trump announced that the U.S. will be the first nation to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of the State of Israel.  We are grateful to the President for his leadership and ask that everyone call the White House (1-202-456-1111) to express our support for this courageous act. However, as we celebrate this day, threats have been made to ignite riots and violence in Israel and beyond.  In light of this, we that everyone also pray for peace in Israel and all communities around the world, reciting Tehillim, especially chapters 83 & 126.   In addition, and in direct response to the “Three Days of Rage” being initiated by our enemies, let us create "Three Days of Tefillah" where we increase our kavanah, especially as we recite the blessings of ולירושלים עירך & רצה in our daily amidah.   May we merit the fulfillment of the prophetic vision of the prophet Zechariya: כֹּה אָמַר ה' שַׁבְתִּי אֶל צִיּוֹן וְשָׁכַנְתִּי בְּתוֹךְ יְרוּשָׁלִָם .וְנִקְרְאָה יְרוּשָׁלַם עִיר הָאֱמֶת וְהַר ה' צְבָאוֹת הַר הַקֹּדֶשׁ Thus said the L-rd: I have returned to Zion, and I will dwell in Jerusalem. Jerusalem will be called the City of Faithfulness, and the mount of the L-rd of Hosts the Holy Mount. כֹּה אָמַר ה' צְבָ-אוֹת עֹד יֵשְׁבוּ זְקֵנִים וּזְקֵנוֹת בִּרְחֹבוֹת יְרוּשָׁלִָם .וְאִישׁ מִשְׁעַנְתּוֹ בְּיָדוֹ מֵרֹב יָמִים וּרְחֹבוֹת הָעִיר יִמָּלְאוּ יְלָדִים וִילָדוֹת מְשַׂחֲקִים בִּרְחֹבֹתֶיהָ Thus said the L-rd of Hosts: There shall yet be old men and women in the squares of Jerusalem, each with staff in hand because of their great age. And the squares of the city shall be crowded with boys and girls playing in the squares.
