When the pandemic hit, the OU responded with a host of new programs and critical advocacy initiatives to support our community through this global crisis.
OU Torah and the OU Women's Initiative greatly expanded their virtual programs, creating an online community where Torah learning and Jewish leadership could thrive despite social isolation. OU Advocacy and Teach Coalition enabled yeshivas to implement remote learning while ensuring that our shuls, schools, and individual students could access the resources available to help them, whether via free kosher food distributions or government loans for schools and shuls. Project Community 2020 brought teens, college students, and the special needs community together for a summer of chesed and connection across 30 cities.
