The weather is changing. Fall is in the air and yontiff season is upon us. Sometimes it can feel overwhelming with so many different tasks to juggle. This is the time to be extra careful about our interactions with our families, friends, neighbors, and even the store employees. U-teshuva, u-tefilla and u-tzedaka ma'avirin es roa hagezerah. Teshuva, tefilla and tzedaka can avert the evil decree. What better way to do teshuva than to show Hashem that we will exercise self-control, patience, love, and understanding with those that we share our lives with.
The yetzer hara is always looking for ways to trip us up. The key to success is to talk to Hashem and ask Him to help us, in whatever situation we may find ourselves. Instead of reacting, be proactive. Tell Hashem, "I really don't want to lash out at my child. Please help me to stay calm. Please help me to find a solution that will bring shalom to my home." Hashem is just waiting for us to ask for His help and bring him into our daily lives. We need to remember that we are never alone. Hashem is always there waiting for us to include Him in our day to day interactions. Imy"H we should all be zoche to act in a way that brings Hashem nachas and thereby be blessed with a g'mar chasima tova.
