Dear Friend,

It is with great pleasure that the OU Women's Initiative presents the Aseret Yemei Teshuva Essay Collection prepared by noted and respected scholars and educators.

This compilation is dedicated by Elaine Jaye in loving memory of her dear parents Mordechai ben Yitzchak and Fayga bas Avraham.  We are grateful for her generous support of this project. In the zchut of learning the words of Torah in this booklet, may their neshamot have an aliya. A special thank you to the Women's Initiative team, Pamela Rivka Simonsson and Rachel Miller for putting this meaningful collection together.

The days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur are known as the Aseret Yemei Teshuva - days when we dedicate time to grow closer to Hashem, to repent and return. Our ancestors paved the path toward teshuva, creating pathways for us to travel on our personal journeys toward repentance.  These spiritual role models can provide us with renewed strength to approach the Almighty during this period when we need His benevolence and care. The essays in this booklet will help us explore the teshuva experience to inspire growth and direct our prayers heavenward.

I hope that this gift from the OU Women's Initiative provides you with inspiration and strength during this auspicious time of year. May Hashem grant us a year filled with good health, happiness, and holiness in a restored world.
