Dear friend,

Historically, Rosh Chodesh has held a special meaning for us as women, and on Friday we will mark the day by creating a unique opportunity to connect with each other and Torah.

Chodesh Sivan marks the month when we received the Torah, the marriage document between Hashem and His people on Har Sinai, our national Chuppah.  There are many symbolic connections between Shavuos and a human marriage. The Kesubah begins with the letter Bet to allude to the Torah which begins with the letter Bet.  The Chuppah is elevated as was Har Sinai. Like with human relationships, our history as a chosen people has been eventful, with meaningful times, difficult periods and joyous occasions.  Chodesh Sivan is the opportunity to mark our anniversary month and recommit to our relationship with Hashem and His Torah.  We have the opportunity as women to connect with spirituality and meaning and to inspire others.

Please join the OU Women's Initiative at ou.org/women/rc on Thursday, June 6th at 12 noon EDT for our virtual Rosh Chodesh Sivan shiur with Mrs. Yael Kaisman.

Mrs. Yael Kaisman is a teacher, lecturer, life coach and outreach professional. She has been teaching at various girls high schools for over 45 years and is a senior lecturer at both Sinai and Heritage Retreats. Known for her ability to explain Jewish philosophical ideas, she combines humor, warmth and wit to captivate audiences of all backgrounds and levels of Jewish knowledge and education.

Chodesh Tov,
