As usual, there are many obstacles getting to Uman for Rosh Hashanah. Some face financial challenges, others have family or health issues, and many don't even want to go.

Whatever the case - prayer helps!

We present Reb Noson's prayer (#76) to help overcome these and other obstacles.

And if you're not planning on going, your prayers are still appreciated for those who are.

"See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse."

For Hashem, there is no such thing as a curse—He only bestows goodness upon everyone. This is why the verse emphasizes "before you," because the distinction between blessing and curse occurs within us, based on the spiritual vessels we possess. If we are able to shape our vessels to receive blessing, we will recognize and believe that everything that happens is a blessing. However, if we cannot, then everything we experience may feel like a curse.

But what should a person do if they find themselves in a situation that feels like a curse, where their spiritual vessels are damaged due to their sins? Rebbe Nachman teaches that in such a state, a person should simply cry out to Hashem to forgive them and draw them closer. This cry goes beyond words and understanding, repairing the vessels and enabling one to transform the curse into a blessing.

In summary, we must cry out to Hashem again and again, pleading for His mercy, so that we may be granted the refined vessels needed to receive the constant blessings He bestows upon us.

Shabbat Shalom!
