A DAY FOR APPRECIATION

Dear Friend,

Kislev!

The month of Kislev -- the month of miracles, light and redemption -- is filled with Chasidic history, tradition, warmth and light. Its festive days span the generations, from the first Chabad Rebbe through the seventh Rebbe, our Rebbe.

Tonight is Tes (the ninth of) Kislev. It celebrates both the birthday and yahrzeit of the second Rebbe of Chabad-Lubavitch, Rabbi DovBer, known as the "Mitteler Rebbe."

Rabbi DovBer expanded the teachings of Chasidism in an unprecedented manner.

Compared to the Talmudic sage Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, first to reveal the esoteric dimension of Torah, Rabbi DovBer revealed layer upon layer of Chasidic doctrine hitherto concealed.

His teachings reverberate through subsequent generations of Chabad teachings studied to this very day.

Please take a moment and consider honoring this auspices Chasidic milestone by publishing a Chasidic work of your choice.

If you have benefited from studying the edifying teachings of Chasidism, if your life has been impacted by the rich legacy of the Rebbes of Chabad, today is a good time to express your appreciation.

I invite you to join in our efforts by contributing to the publishing of a Chasidic text.

Thank you for your continuous support, and may the merit of your generous contribution to produce a source of divine light which will illuminate the world, stand you in good stead to be blessed with all good things, material and spiritual.

With all good wishes.

Rabbi Yosef B. Friedman

"One who contributes from his wealth for the purpose of writing or publishing a book of a tzaddik  --

Behold, at any given time, and in any corner of the world, that a person studies from this book, the tzaddik on high evokes merit on behalf of the donor through whom the book was disseminated."

--The Rebbe (Igrot Kodesh, vol 2)
