BRI TORAH TIDBITS "I am seeking my brothers" (Genesis 37:16)   A sorrowful event occurs in this week's Torah portion: Yosef is sold into slavery in Egypt by his brothers, marking the beginning of exile.   Yosef represents the source of pleasantness; the Torah describes him as "handsome in form and appearance." Through him, all the positive influences were meant to flow to his brothers. However, their disagreement with him caused all that pleasantness to fall into improper places.   The length of the exile is due to this reason: **division.** What a dreadful word, especially when it involves true tzaddikim.   We must learn from this to flee from discord as one flees from fire, and to thank Hashem for the merit of drawing close to true tzaddikim.   How fortunate we are to have merited this!
