Dear Alumni and Friends,
We've returned from Rosh Hashana energized and inspired, and our new school year is off to a strong start. It's been a meaningful month at HTC, full of learning, connection, and preparation for the Yamim Noraim.
We were honored to host the Shloshim for Rabbi Berel Wein זצ״ל (HTC '56), a moving tribute to his lasting legacy as a Rav, historian, and proud musmach of our Yeshiva. Fasman Yeshiva High School launched the year with an uplifting overnight trip, fostering achdus and excitement among students and rebbeim. The Beis Midrash and Kollel have been filled with energized learning and self growth in the month of Elul! Meanwhile, the Sarah Hartman Women's College of Touro at HTC engaged the community through a beautiful series of learning programs designed to help women prepare spiritually for the Yamim Noraim.
As we approach Yom Kippur, we wish you and your families a Gmar Chasima Tova and a meaningful, uplifting fast.
Warm regards,

What is your favorite memory/(memories) from FYHS/HTC/Kayitz: There are too many to pick from! I loved the balance of the dual curriculum, rebbeim, and friends all working in one cohesive engine. Please share a lesson/takeaway from your time at FYHS/HTC/Kayitz: It shaped who I am today. The emphasis on chesed and finding opportunities to do more. Plus, I appreciated there was a level of education for everyone.

In the Gemara (Sotah 35b), Rava asks why David HaMelech was punished with Uzzah's death (2 Shmuel Ch. 6). The Gemara answers that it was because he called matters of Torah "zemiros", as it says in Tehillim (119:54): "זְמִרוֹת הָיוּ לִי חֻקֶיךָ בְּבֵית מְגוּ" – "Your statutes have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage."רָי | | | | A Unique Shabbos

The lofty nature of these days between Yom Kippur and Sukkos is well-known. The Midrash on the pasuk "וּלְקַחְתֶּם בַּיוֹם הָרִ" – "and you shall take them on the first day" – tells us that the 15th of Tishrei is not only the first day of Sukkos, but the "first day of the [new] count of sins", indicating that the four days after Yom Kippur are, in a way, "sin-resistant". | | | | | |
