The passage tells us that our forefathers ate matzah in the land of Egypt long b/4 the Bnei Yisrael experienced the Exodus.This is in line with what the Midrash tells s concerning Avraham Avinu,who asked Sarah to bake matzos for the angels.Although the episode of the Exodus had not yet occurred,they still celebrated an event that was to occur in the future.Rav Moshe Wolfson Shli"ta says that we to must have this perspective.We to must wish to celebrate what will occur in the future.We beseech HASHEM that we shall merit to partake of the Korban Pesach in the Beis Hamikdash,next year in Eretz Yisrael,as a free people.(page 145)
