| | Yom Tov Assistance Programs | | Maot Chitim: With inflation the highest it's been in recent memory, the stress and expense of Pesach preparation threatens to be very high this year. This past Sunday, thanks to the efforts of Agudath Israel of Illinois in collaboration with Maot Chitim of Greater Chicago, over 600 families, from Lincolnwood, Skokie, West Rogers Park, and as far away as Elgin, Naperville and downtown Chicago, experienced some relief with specially prepared packages of food and dry goods to ease their Yom Tov expenses. Volunteers and staff of Agudath Israel and Maot Chitim helped pack and distribute some 500 cases of grape juice, 575 cases of pans, 1,200 pounds of matzah and 620 cases of chicken along with many other staples at no cost to the recipients. The praise and appreciation from the recipients was unanimous, as the entire distribution took place in just 6 hours. AIOI would like to thank Maot Chitim of Greater Chicago for their ongoing partnership to benefit all the families in the Chicago Jewish community.
Pesach Teacher Appreciation Program: Agudath Israel of Illinois is once again hosting this popular program for Pesach 2022. The Pesach Teacher Appreciation Program, or PTAP, utilizes a partnership between donors, schools, and rebbeim/teachers to provide many Yom Tov staples to the rebbeim/teachers in our community at a fraction of the wholesale cost, in appreciation for what they do for our children. This year especially, with prices soaring and many products difficult to find, this program is a literal lifesaver for many, particularly large families. Some 350 dedicated staff members of the Chicago Schools and Yeshivos took part in the program this year. Although the number and types of products offered this year were far fewer than in previous years due to the challenges in the supply chain, the rebbeim and teachers were still able to purchase some $1,800 worth of food and dry goods at under $300, a savings of over 80% of the retail value. AIOI has been able to leverage its volume purchasing power along with a strong commitment from the schools and Agudah supporters, to make the PTAP so successful. We would like to thank all the partners in this valuable endeavor and wish everyone a Chag Kasher V'Sameach! | | In the Busy Pesach Season, the Bais Horaah is Extending it's Hours for You! | | Safah Berurah: The Halachos of Kashering for Pesach | | The Midwest Agudas Yisroel Council of Synagogue Rabbonim is pleased to present two seforim with instructions for the halachos of kashering your kitchen for Pesach and year-round and the halachos of tevilas keilim.
