| | Agudah of Illinois Offices Expand to Better Serve the Community | | Last Wednesday, Agudas Yisroel of Illinois (AIOI) held a kvias mezuzah for their new office building in Chicago. Unlike their last location, this new space accommodates all divisions of the Agudah in house, including the Midwest Bais Horaah. Additionally, the new building will house the expanded Antonia Spitzer Jewish Library, which has now tripled in size and includes computers kiosks and a media/event room.
"This new office has been long awaited and very much needed," said Mr. Moshe Davis, interim executive vice president of AIOI. "Many people put in tremendous efforts to make this an efficient and productive workspace."
The event, which was attended by Rabbi Shmuel Fuerst, Dayan, AIOI, and Rabbi Shmuel Yehudah Levin, Rosh Yeshivas Telshe Chicago, along with local rabbanim and community leaders, was also attended by Rabbi Yitzchok Ehrman, COO of Agudas Yisroel of America, and Rabbi Chaim Dovid Zwiebel, executive vice president of Agudath Yisroel of America.
"We are looking forward to seeing great success come from this new office. We will, with Hashem's help, host a chanukas habayis for the community in the near future," said Rabbi Ari Strulowitz, director of operations for AIOI. | | Yahalom Sibs Club: Caring for the Siblings of Children with Special Needs | | While Yahalom is known for the exceptional services it provides for children with special needs, did you know that family members of these children are also cared for by Yahalom?
Last week, YahalomNY invited siblings of children with special needs to a pizza and paint party in the Five Towns. The event began by playing a get-to-know-you game, followed by pizza and soda. For the activity, each child received a canvas which they painted on their own, or with the help of an instructor. The event concluded with the children enjoying the backyard equipment.
The event was spaced over two days to accommodate both boys and girls, and almost every yeshiva in the Five Towns participated. Yahalom looks forward to hosting more events like this in the future, to continue to give siblings of children with special needs focused attention.
YahalomNY is a resource center for parents of children with special needs. It is designed to help those parents obtain the appropriate resources by guiding, educating, and empowering parents to ensure they have the help and support they need.
