Mazal Tov! This week I received the wonderful news of the birth of a great-granddaughter to my dear grandson, Tzvi Greenwald, son of my late daughter Rachel, of blessed memory.

May her parents be blessed to raise her to Torah, to the chuppah, and to a life of good deeds, and may we all derive much nachas from her.
BRI TORAH TIDBITS
"You shall make a window for the ark" (Bereishit 6:16)

One of the foundational teachings in Breslov is Likutey Moharan lesson 112, which is highly recommended for in-depth study.

The core message of this lesson emphasizes putting all one's strength into prayer and speaking words of truth in prayer to combat the falsehood and darkness that surround us.

Rashi comments on the word "tzohar" (window) with two opinions: one that it refers to a "precious stone" and another that it means "a window." Rebbe Nachman takes this phrase "some say" as part of the idea itself. "Some say" represents the possibility of true and good speech—the kind of prayer that is spoken so honestly that it shines like a diamond, illuminating even the darkest places. This is the ultimate prayer, radiating the light of Hashem Himself.

There is also a lesser level, "some say," where one's prayer shines like a window. Here, the person's truth may indeed light up dark places, but it does so indirectly, receiving illumination through true tzaddikim.

In this lesson, Rebbe Nachman also states that a person should pray all their life to merit, at least once, to say even one word of true and genuine prayer.

May we be blessed to invest time in sincere prayer every day and merit to break through the darkness and emerge into the light.

Shabbat Shalom,

Chaim Kramer
