At the end of this week's parsha we learn about the episode of Miriam and the lashon hara she spoke about her brother, Moshe Rabbeinu. According to the Ramban, one of the 613 mitzvos of the Torah is to remember this episode and to thereby refrain from speaking any lashon hara. One of the common applications of lashon hara that requires constant sensitivity and attention is lashon hara as it applies to shidduch information.
