Memo from Midwest Agudas Yisroel Council of Synagogue Rabbanim
After a general Rabbanim meeting and with ongoing consultation with medical professionals, as of today (3/15 at 5 PM) many of the shuls will remain open with limited use and with significant restrictions put in place to prevent the spread of the coronavirus and to maintain everyone's good health. Each Rav will give direction for his personal Kehilla, and in some cases, due to subjective factors, he may decide to close until further notice.
The current situation is a very serious one and every individual must diligently follow all health and hygiene guidelines as described by the CDC, maintain social distancing and follow all the directives given for his personal shul.
Once again, it is against halacha to go to shul if you have any symptoms of illness. In addition, anyone that is elderly or immune-compromised must stay home, without any exceptions.
We understand that this is a fluid reality, and we will provide updates as necessary.
