Webinar: Federal School Choice in Illinois

Register here

While there's a lot of excitement around this school choice development, there are a lot of questions, specifically with Illinois having had a very successful program that was unfortunately repealed a few years ago. This webinar is geared specifically toward residents in Illinois to understand the potential impact of the new federal Scholarship Tax Credit (STC) program and what to expect, especially how it compares to the program we previously had.

Over 60 Rabbanim at This Year's Midwest Rabbanim Conference

BH, this year's conference for the Agudas Yisroel Midwest Council of Synagogue Rabbanim saw record attendance by both Rabbanim and Rebbetzins. The program was very well-received and many felt this was the best gathering to date. A full report on the conference will be included in next week's newsletter iy"H.

Record Breaking Attendance at H3 London

With more than 1,000 registered attendees and a first-class venue, this year's H3 Halacha Summit in London, England set a new standard for the annual event. As in the two previous UK summits, the program was packed with a variety of halachic and hashkafic topics addressed by well-known poskim and rabbanim from England and the US. The sessions were filled to capacity throughout the day, and the well-stocked networking lounge was quite busy as well.

Rabbi Yaakov Robinson, Menahel of the Agudas Yisroel Midwest Council of Synagogue Rabbanim and one of the founders of H3, opened the day with a powerful presentation on the mission and the goal of H3. He was joined by Rav Doniel Osher Kleinman, Rav of K'hal Nachlas Dovid in Brooklyn, NY, and the session was chaired by R' Shaul Bodner, founding member and chairman of the H3 London committee. A highlight of the day was the launch of JBL, Jewish Business Link, an inter-generational mentoring program focused on helping young people be successful in their business endeavors with the help of experienced businessmen in the community. The presentation included a dynamic address by R' Naftali Horowitz to a standing-room-only crowd of over 900 people.

New this year was a consulting area, where registrants were able to book short one-to-one appointments with some of the rabbanim and presenters. The schedule also included a "City Track", which featured Rabbi Dr. Akiva Tatz and others, designed to accommodate young professionals working nearby who were unable to join for the full day program. The day ended with a gala Keynote Dinner featuring addresses by Rav Zev Cohen, Rav of K'hal Adas Yeshurun in Chicago, and R' Menashe Frankel, respected askan from Lakewood, NJ.

The impact of the day was obvious. Rabbi Cohen mentioned a few interactions between attendees that had taken place earlier in the day that were motivated by the topics that were discussed. Agudah Illinois is once again proud to have been the catalyst for expanding halachic and hashkafic awareness in business and we look forward to even more growth and inspiration from future H3 events around the world.
