The most important thing on Sukkot is to be happy ALL THE TIME during the ENTIRE Holiday of Sukkot. It says that one who is happy at absolutely every moment during Sukkot is guaranteed to be happy all year, and have a happy year. Be very careful not to be unhappy for even a moment, this ruins the Mitsvah of being happy on Sukkot (vesamachta bechagecha vehayita ACH sameach/ and you shall be happy during your holiday and be ONLY happy). Of course this is not easy, things can be stressful, you can be having a lot on your mind or going through a difficult time. Being in a sukkah, which provides a special protection, is compared to a child being his mother's womb. Our entire being is under Hashem's protection.
