Mazal Tov! A great-grandson was born to us, the son of my granddaughter, Chaya, who is the daughter of my son Aharon. May it be the will of Hashem that his parents merit to raise him to Torah, to the chupah, and to good deeds, Amen.
This coming Shabbat, we will start learning Pirkey Avot.

A special discount is available for those who order the Breslov Pirkey Avot through our online bookstore.

"When Aharon enters the Holy of Holies..." (Leviticus 16:3)

The Torah describes the special and important work of the High Priest on Yom Kippur. He goes in and out of serving Hashem, both inside the Heichal and outside in the Courtyard, in a way that's only done once a year.

It's interesting to note that in a special poem recited on Yom Kippur, we say: "Like one who sits in seclusion awaiting the presence of the King - the appearance of the Kohen."

This means that the High Priest's appearance during his service was like someone quietly awaiting the King's face. The Breslover elders would say that this hints at the importance of spending time alone in hitbodedut. We need to understand and appreciate how important it is for every Jew, even the simplest, to spend time alone, talking to Hashem in their own way. On Yom Kippur, the High Priest's expression resembled that of a simple Jew conversing with Hashem.

May we all be able to follow Rebbe Nachman's advice and guidelines of spending time alone every day in hitbodedut and quickly see the complete redemption, Amen.

Shabbat Shalom

Chaim Kramer
