| "A constant fire shall burn upon the Mizbe'ach; it shall not be extinguished" (Vayikra 6:6) There is a remarkable expression of Rebbe Nachman, echoing the very language of the Torah: "My fire will burn until the coming of Mashiach." How does this find expression within us? Rebbe Nachman devoted his entire life for our sake—to draw close all the weak and distant souls. And after his passing, even more so, with greater כוח and intensity, his light continues to shine. Many of his teachings were not fully understood until our generation. Here lies upon us a small yet essential step: to bind ourselves to the true Tzaddik. Before every tefillah, before every mitzvah, we connect ourselves to him. Hiskashrus (connection) is like a covenant between two distinct entities—separate, even seemingly opposite. And when a person merits to guard his mouth with holiness, the Shechinah rests between them. The root of this lies in the attribute of Yesod, which receives from the higher Sefiros and transmits to Malchus. Even though Malchus is different from the Sefiros above it—its whole nature is only to receive. Through connecting to the Tzaddik, we demonstrate that all our longing and desire is to give over and contribute our portion in serving HaShem—even if it is lacking, even if it is incomplete. And the Tzaddik establishes the Mishkan, as we saw in Parshas Pekudei. He builds each and every desire, placing it in its proper place, until the complete Geulah—when the fire burns strong and steady, never to be extinguished. May it be HaShem's will that we truly merit to connect to the true Tzaddikim, and to witness the complete redemption and the rebuilding of the Beis HaMikdash. Amen. Shabbat Shalom |
