AIOI Pre-Pesach Programming 5786

For close to 45 years, Agudath Israel of Illinois has helped provide the greater Chicago Jewish Community with a growing number of Pesach related programs and services. Boruch Hashem, this year was no exception. Below is a brief list of the services provided:

Pesach Guide- Coming in at over 100 pages, the Guide was mailed out to close to 4,000 homes and hundreds of copies were placed in area stores. With everything from halachos to recipes and stories to important lists/charts, the Guide has become a must have for Jewish homes before, during and even after the Yom Tov.

Pre-Pesach Shiurim Series- Given by Rabbi Moshe Kaufman, Rav – Congregation Adas Bnei Yisroel and Menahel and Moreh Horaah of the Midwest Bais Horaah, for men (New) and women to help both with Halacha-based Pesach preparation.

In conjunction with the emphasis of the dissemination of Hilchos Pesach, the Midwest Bais Horaah – under the supervision of Rav Shmuel Fuerst – offered extended hours for asking shailos, with a guarantee of a Moreh Horaah answering the calls.

Community Shaimos Drop Off- Tons of shaimos dropped off during the 4 hour Sunday afternoon time period.

Hagalos Kailim- Available for 2 nights to help families and individuals prepare their pots, pans, bechers etc. for Pesach use.

Pre-Pesach Garbage Removal- For the 39th and 50th Wards in conjunctions with Alderman Silverstein and Alderman Nugent along with the Department of Streets & Sanitation.

Be’ur Chometz- With a record number of individuals and families coming to safely burn their chometz before the zman; under the supervision of the Lincolnwood Fire Department and with numerous fire safety steps provided.

Hagolas Kailim Lost and Found

There were a few items left behind at this year's Agudath Israel sponsored Pre-Pesach Hagalos Kailim. If you think something may be yours, please contact Rabbi Bider at 773.315.7255 to arrange to see what he has.

Vaad Hatzedakos Update

As the Vaad Hatzedakos has reopened, you can email VaadHatzedakos@gmail.com to stay updated on which Matrimim are approved. Because of the situation in Eretz Yisroel, some Matrimim that usually arrive in Sivan are coming earlier than usual.
