There was a slight improvement in his condition earlier this week, and the doctors were able to reduce the level of his sedation. But sadly, following his deterioration this morning, the medical team was forced to restore full sedation in order to stabilize his condition.
On Monday evening, HaRav Kook’s chashuve father-in-law, HaGaon HaRav Yitzchak Zilberstein, paused his shiur to recite Tehillim for his son-in-law.
In a voice choked with tears, he also described the tzidkus of his son-in-law.
“The generation is upheld by him, and he is now in serious condition,” HaRav Zilberstein said. “He is truly a Tzaddik Yesod Olam, beyond description! He is great in chachmas haKabbalah.
Immediately afterward, HaRav Zilberstein began reciting Psalm 130 from Tehillim (see below), “Out of the depths I have called to You, Hashem,” while the hundreds participating in the shiur responded passuk by passuk.
HaRav Kook’s close talmid, HaRav Moshe Chaim Schneider, requested from the public: “We’re approaching the Yom Tov of Shavuos, an auspicious time when all the Cholei Yisrael were healed at Har Sinai. Davka now, we must unite as one person with one heart for the refuah of our Rav, who dedicated all his days for the benefit of the Klal, worked tirelessly for the healing of the sick, and whose pure tefillos stood by many in Am Yisrael in their time of distress.”
The public is asked to storm the gates of Shamayim for the refuah sheleimah of Dov ben Shoshanah b’soch sha’ar cholei Yisrael.

1) For the musician, with musical accompaniment on the sheminis instrument, a mizmor by David. (2) Hashem, don’t rebuke me in Your anger. Don’t chastise me in Your rage. (3) Grant me Your mercy, Hashem, for I have been cut down. (4) Heal me, Hashem, for my bones shake with terror. My soul is utterly terrified, and You Hashem — How long? (5) Turn back, Hashem, release my soul. Save me as befits Your kindness ... (6) for there is no mention of You in death. In the grave who will thank You? (7) I am exhausted from groaning; every night my bed is drenched; with my tears I soil the place where I have lain. (8) My eye is dimmed from anger, aged by all my tormentors. (9) Depart from me all wrongdoers, for Hashem has heard the sound of my weeping. (10) Hashem has heard my plea; Hashem will accept my prayer. (11) They will be ashamed and will be utterly astounded. When all my enemies return, they will be ashamed for a while.פרק 20/כ

(1) For the musician, a mizmor by David. (2) May Hashem answer you on the day of distress. May the Name of Yaakov’s G-d protect you. (3) May He send your help from the Mikdash; may He support you from Tzion. (4) May He give consideration to all your minchah-offerings. May He accept your olah-offerings, Selah. (5) May He grant you according to your heart. May He fulfill your every plan. (6) We will sing joyously because of your deliverance, and we will gather around banners in the Name of our G-d. May Hashem fulfill all your requests. (7) Now I know that Hashem continues to save His anointed one. He will continue to answer from His holy heaven, with the mighty victories of His right hand. (8) Some [depend] on chariots, and some on horses. We call out the Name of Hashem, our G-d. (9) They slumped and fell, but we stood up and were empowered. (10) Hashem save! May the King answer us on the day we call.

1A song for ascents. I shall raise my eyes to the mountains, from where will my help come? 2My help is from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. 3He will not allow your foot to falter; Your Guardian will not slumber. 4Behold the Guardian of Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. 5The Lord is your Guardian; the Lord is your shadow; [He is] by your right hand. 6By day, the sun will not smite you, nor will the moon at night. 7The Lord will guard you from all evil; He will guard your soul. 8The Lord will guard your going out and your coming in from now and to eternity.

1A song of ascents. From the depths I have called You, O Lord. 2O Lord, hearken to my voice; may Your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. 3O God, if You keep [a record of] iniquities, O Lord, who will stand? 4For forgiveness is with You, in order that You be feared. 5I hoped, O Lord; yea, my soul hoped, and I wait for His word. 6My soul is to the Lord among those who await the morning, those who await the morning. 7Israel, hope to the Lord, for kindness is with the Lord and much redemption is with Him. 8And He will redeem Israel from all their iniquities

1A maskil of David, when he was in the cave, a prayer. 2[With] my voice, I cry out to the Lord; [with] my voice, I supplicate the Lord. 3I pour out before Him my speech; my distress I recite before Him. 4When my spirit enwraps itself upon me, and You know my path. In whichever way I go, they have hidden a snare for me. 5Looking to the right, I see that no one recognizes me; escape is lost from me; no one seeks my soul. 6I cried out to You, O Lord; I said, "You are my refuge, my lot in the land of the living." 7Hearken to my cry for I have become very low; save me from my pursuers for they have overpowered me. 8Take my soul out of confinement to give thanks to Your name; because of me the righteous will crown You, because You will recompense me.
