Dear Friends, עמו"ש
I hope this note finds you well. The month of Nissan frames our Jewish concept of time. Hashem teaches us that this time belongs to us. Although we do not control time itself, we control how we experience and utilize time. Even when moments seem identical, when we reflect we realize that no two times are the same.
This is an important lesson for the Pesach Seder. For those who have been fulfilling the Mitzvot of Leil Haseder for many years, it can seem as though it will be just the same once again this year. Yet, it will not be the same. We are different people than we were last year, and our relationship with Hashem is different.
This year, Pesach will be its own unique time - a time that is waiting for us to fill it with meaning and connection. The Rambam nods to this unique feature by stating that we are each obligated to see ourselves as if we are only "now" being redeemed from Egypt - each Pesach is a new redemption, a new opportunity for growth.
This is why our Kollel continues to innovate with new Torah and new programming each year for Pesach. We have a new WhatsApp group with Hilchot Pesach (click HERE to join), a new season of our popular Seder Snippets podcast (click HERE to listen) and a full, new lineup of Kollel and NILI learning this Nissan. Rabbi Yitzy Weiss is preparing a new, double edition of Parsha Mimekora for Parshat Tzav and the first days of Pesach. We are especially excited for the new Pesach Torah presentation with Living Torah guest, Rabbi Yaakov Glasser, bezH on April 7.
However you engage with our Kollel's Torah learning, we hope it will enable you to make this year's Pesach experience uniquely meaningful.
