There is a beautiful dvar torah that Rabbi Shlomo Carlbach zt"l said over on the Hagaddah Shel Pesach. Why do we respond to the Rasha son in the Hagaddah in such a harsh way ("Hakeh es shivov"....strike him in his teeth)? Isn't it at least to his credit that he is here, sitting around the seder with his family, good enough? What does it mean, "Hakeh es Shinov"? So he answers, 'kedarko', with a fantastic and inspiring 'vertel'. He quotes a teaching in the name of the (4th) Belzer Rebbe, Reb Aharon Roke’ach zt"l. Reb Ahrele taught that everything in this world, every aspect of reality, has within it a pnimius and a chitzonius, an inner and outer manifestation. The word Rasha is spelled ר-שׁ-ע. The outer letters is ר-ע which spells רע - evil. That is what this person is - but only on the OUTSIDE! The שׁ, which is the letter on the inside has three branches each representing the 3 Avos of Klal Yisroel. And that is the pnimius, the INNER manifestation of this yid. That despite his evil wayward lifestyle and attitude, and regardless of our worthiness, b'zechus the Avos we are all included in this redemptive relationship with Hashem. Reb Shlomo says, do what the Haggadah says to do to the Rasha, strike his Shin[av] – his שׁ – his inner manifestation – agitate, stimulate and arouse the Shin, the awareness of our Avos to awaken the body to the existence of the Neshama. R' Carlbach’s teaching is profound. Don’t just hit the child, or reject the child, but find a way to encourage your child and to accept your child, let YOUR good speech bring out the best in your rebellious child’s speech.(summary from ywn coffee room)

Received from Shaindy Kappel, founder of Aneinu: The name of the woman is Soro bas Linda, she is not frum. She doesn't know her mother's hebrew name. She is a woman in her early 40's who was recently diagnosed with stage four cancer in her brain and other areas in her body as well. After 14 radiation treatments and starting chemo, she just found out yesterday that the tumors did not respond to the treatments and instead got larger. I am asking everyone to add her name to their tehillim list. Rabbi Dovid Weinberger, when he gave me the instructions for Aneinu explained that each community should have a community based cholim list and each aneinu group should say the names of those within their respective community. We need not say the names of cholim all over the world, because that becomes an impossible task, and l'zorainu harav, the list is endless. He explained that since we can assume the cholim are frum-their family, friends and community will daven for them. But he said, in a case of a baal teshuva or someone who is not frum-we can assume that there is NO ONE who will daven for them and in this case, we all become the family of the choleh and daven for them. this rule applies in the case of Soro Bas Linda. RABBI WEIN ON PARSHAS VAYIKRA

This week’s parsha marks another new beginning in our public reading and personal understanding of the Torah. Whereas the first two books of the Torah are mainly narrative in nature and content, the book of Vayikra is mainly a book of laws and commandments and of the nature of purity and impurity, sacrificial offerings and priestly obligations. Vayikra not only offers us a change of content, it offers a change of tone. It is less personal than were Bereshith and Shemot and it concentrates on the halachic and detailed aspects of Judaism rather than on the broad scope of Jewish national experience. In this way the Torah teaches us that Judaism is an all-encompassing faith, both public and private in nature and observance, general and particular all at one and the same time.

The problem with common sense is that it is none too common. In fact, one could characterize it as a rare commodity or even as an endangered species. I myself don't know what it’s, I have never tasted it, maybe some of you did, it’s a very high level. But then there’s a deeper level. Every day has something which no other day ever had before and which no day will ever have after. There is something so special about every single day, and to taste this is the deepest tasting of life. So what we are doing between Pesach and Shavuos to be ready to hear G-d’s voice? We have to learn the specialness of every day. You see friends, unless you know the specialness of every day you don’t know the specialness of people, and you might not even know the specialness of yourself.

Please daven for Rachel bas Yafa 16-Year-Old Girl Calls from Trunk of Arab Car (Wednesday, March 20th, 2013) A mother called Learn and Live complaining that her 16-year-old daughter was hanging around with three Arab men from Shechem. When confronted, the teenage girl claimed that the Arabs treated her like a princess and they were all just friends. Learn and Live counselors called the girl and tried to make a time to meet with her but to no avail. Two days later, the girl called Learn and Live from the trunk of a car. “They are taking me into Shechem! They told me to stay in the trunk to get thru the Israeli checkpoint”. Frantic chase efforts were made to find the car and the girl but to no avail. Her mother and Learn and Live staff have not heard from her. Baby Adelle Biton’s condition has worsened and she is in critical, life threatening condition at Schneider Children’s Hospital in Petach Tikva. “We regret to say that Adelle’s condition is deteriorating and we ask the entire public to pray for her health,” her father, Rafi, said today. Adelle’s name for Tehillim is Adelle Chaya Bat Adva, reports Arutz Sheva. Adelle’s mother, Adva, was listed in moderate to serious condition after the attack by rock-throwing murderous terrorists, which caused her car to crash into a truck. Since the earliest days of Maccabeats, fans have been asking for a Pesach (Passover) video. And for just as long, they’ve wanted to produce a Pesach video, but only if they could get it right; If they could put together a project that properly portrayed the excitement and grandeur of the Festival of Freedom. This year’s film adaption of the classic theatrical masterpiece Les Misérables afforded us the perfect opportunity. Les Mis, which has always been a Maccabeats favorite, tells the story of one man’s search for freedom, salvation, and himself. Yeshiva World News 3-Year-Old Terror Victim Fighting for Her Life Little 3-year-old Adele Biton is fighting for her life after being critically injured in a vehicular accident near Ariel in Shomron last week. The accident was the result of rock-throwing at vehicles, and in this case, a bus was hit causing the driver to lose control, resulting in a private vehicle smashing into the rear of a truck. A mother and her daughters were injured in the accident, with Adele suffering the worst injuries. She underwent a number of brain surgeries since the accident and doctors in Schneider Children’s Hospital on motzei Shabbos Parshas Vayikra explain “She is far from out of the woods and we are fighting for her life”. Soldiers arrested at least eight suspects in the case, residents of Arab villages near Ariel. See the video footage released by the IDF Spokesman’s Office showing soldiers operating at night using night vision apparatus to make the arrests.

JI Yonatan Razel Celebrates “Bein Hatzlilim” Reaching Gold Album in Sales and Releases for Pesach a Special Performance of the song “V’hi Sheomda”

Gracefully Yonatan Razel continues to enchant and captivate audiences in both the religious and secular circles. Four months ago he released his latest album “Bein Hatzlilim” which just reached gold album sales! “Katointi“, “Hagagua“, “Bein Hatzlilim“, “Nigun Belz” and “Ashira” from the new album continue playing in various radio stations and warm the hearts of listeners worldwide. Yonatan is continuing his national tour which included 2 previous performances were sold out. With Pesach fast approaching, Razel wanted to give a gift to the audience/fans and released the exciting song “V’hi Sheomda” with new arrangements and now being sung by Yonatan himself. The story of this song began when the Chasidic singer Yaakov Shwekey invited Razel to join him for a guest appearance during his show in Caesarea. Together they searched for new materials to help enhance the show. Razel played this song for Shwekey who immediately fell in love with the song. In 2008 they performed the song duet concert in Caesarea. That performance was recorded and included the CD and DVD. The duet became one of the biggest hits of the last decade in the orthodox religious world and won the title song of the decade at the radio station “Kol Chai”. Over the years Razel constantly gets requests from the audience in his performances to perform the song.

[Aneinu] FDA Says Zithromax Can Cause Fatal Irregular Heart Rhythm

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration warned on Tuesday that the popular antibiotic azithromycin, sold as Zithromax, can cause a potentially fatal irregular heart rhythm in some patients. The agency said the move follows its review of a study by medical researchers as well as a company study assessing the drug’s potential for causing abnormal changes in the electrical activity of the heart. Last May, a study in the New England Journal of Medicine compared the risk of cardiovascular death in patients who took Zithromax with those who took several other antibiotics, including amoxicillin. It found that patients who took Zithromax, made by Pfizer Inc, had higher rates of fatal heart rhythms. Generic versions of Zithromax are also available. In its warning, the FDA said the drug can alter the electrical activity of the heart, which may lead to a potentially fatal heart rhythm known as prolonged QT interval, in which the timing of the heart’s contractions becomes irregular. {Matzav.com Newscenter}

One aspect relating to the building of the Mishkan and the donation of its materials that is stressed by the Torah, is that it was all done voluntarily and out of good will on the part of the Bnei Yisroel. As the Targum Yonosan adds, coercion was not only unnecessary, it was discouraged. THE BAIS HAVAAD ON THE PARSHA 5772~ PARSHAS VAYAKHEL-PIKUDEI~His Support, Her Contribution

In this week's parsha the Torah tells us about all the donations that were given for the building of the Mishkan. Among the donations mentioned is that of the "wise-hearted women" who spun the goat's hair with their hands. These women provided all the spun yarn of turquoise, purple, and scarlet wool, and linen. The commentators ask how it was possible for the women to have actually owned the value of the wool they spun. This is because Chazal (Meseches Kesubos 65b) teach us that all of a woman's earnings belong to her husband and therefore the value of her spinnings would belong to her husband, as well. The Panim Yafos explains that the concept of a husband owning his wife's earnings was not yet applicable at the time of the building of the Mishkan. The Ksav Sofer answers that the reasoning for this institution is so that the husband will provide food for his wife. Since the husband is obligated to support his wife the sages instituted that in return he is awarded with all her earnings. However, at the time of the building of the Mishkan when everyone was supported by Hashem and being provided with the manna there was no reason for husbands to be entitled to their wives earnings. here is a Medrash that says there was a ship that was on the waters. Suddenly there was a storm and everybody was getting crazy, the ship began to drown. There was a little boy lying on deck on a little chair, taking a little sun bath.

So they say to him 'hey brother, aren't you afraid?'

He says 'my father is the captain'.

Friends, the way the world shuckles today, the tornadoes, the missiles… unless it's clear to you that your father is the captain, you think maybe you should jump to the sea and commit suicide. What is the world coming to? But if you know your father is the captain, you are sure the ship is on the right way to the right island.

Somewhere somewhere there is a beautiful island, somewhere somewhere. And that island is untouched by evil, it is untouched by anything unholy, it's untouched by hatred.

You know something friends, if we have the awesome privilege, we are going to this island every Shabbos. Every Shabbos we are in another world. I'm sure it's clear to you that Shabbos is not just that I keep Shabbos, I don't drive my car. I don't run my business and I eat chicken soup. That is all kids stuff. Shabbos is so much more than all that, Shabbos we are in another world.

So I want to bless you friends, this Shabbos we should cross all the waves and get to that island.

Sometimes, it's the thoughts that get us there All week long he says I was praying to G-d that I should have a good Shabbos; do you know how good Shabbos is? I’ll tell you the difference between Shabbos and everything else. Imagine I am very hungry and I’m dreaming that in about two hours from now I am going to this French restaurant and I’m going to knock it in like mad. But in the meantime, I am still hungry like a dog. Dreaming about food doesn’t help. My kishkes say, listen brother, I appreciate your high caliber that you are dreaming so much about food but it doesn’t help, I want to eat.

CHASSIDIC PEARLS BY RABI LAZER BRODY PARSHAS VAYAKHEL AND PEKUDEI

Parshat Vayakhel Seeing and Hearing the Tzaddik, First-hand "Moshe (Moses) assembled the entire congregation of the Children of Israel and said to them, 'These are the things that God commanded you, to do them: Work shall be done on six days, but the seventh day shall be holy for you'" (Shmot 35:1). The above passage raises several questions: First, why did Moshe go to the lengths of assembling the entire Jewish nation? Second, why did Moshe insist that parents bring all their children, including newborn babies? And third, of all the laws of the Torah, why did Moshe insist in personally informing the entire populace of the Sabbath? Parshat Pekudei A Foot in Both Worlds "And you shall anoint them like you anointed their father, and they shall serve in the priesthood for Me, and their anointment shall be for eternal priesthood for all generations" (Shmot 40:15). Why did God command Moshe (Moses) that Aharon's (Aaron) sons should be the ones to serve under their father in the priesthood? Also, if the Torah commands that their priesthood shall be eternal, then why does it use the apparent superfluous terminology of "for all generations" - isn't that the same as "eternal"?

BRESLEV.CO.IL BONUS THE NEED FOR UNITY By Rabbi Pinchas Winston

Parshat Vayakhel Moshe assembled all the congregation of the Children of Israel, and said to them, "These are the words ..." (Shemos 35:1) Everyone's eyebrows go up over the emphasis on Moshe's gathering of the people to hear G-d's command, asking, "Why is this night different from all others?" (to borrow the words from the Haggadah). In other words, why doesn't it say that Moshe "gathered the people" in other places that he was told to speak to the Jewish people on behalf of G-d? The Ohr HaChaim HaKadosh says that, after Moshe came down exuding light at the end of last week's parshah, many from the Jewish people were afraid to approach him. Therefore, Moshe summoned all of them to come before him, to allay their fear--men, women, and children too. The Ohr HaChaim also says that normally, women and children were not in attendance when Moshe told over G-d's words. However, since the building of the Mishkan was from "gifts of the heart" brought from ALL the Jewish people, the women and children were also asked to be present when Moshe spoke on this topic again.

It is said that Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzinski (1863-1940), a brilliant Lithuanian scholar and posek, would simultaneously write scholarly Halachic correspondence while conversing with someone on a totally different subject. When questioned how he accomplished this feat, Rabbi Grodzinski humbly replied that his talent was not so remarkable. 'What, have you never heard of a businessman who mentally plans out his day's schedule while reciting the morning prayers?'
