As Bnei Yisroel now embarks on their destiny toward Sinai and Hashem’s giving us the Torah, Hashem gives Moshe instructions on how to approach Bnei Yisroel: “Koh tomar leVeit Yaakov vetagid LeVnei Yisroel – so shall you say to the House of Jacob and tell the children of Israel.” Hashem then continues with the actual words that Moshe is to speak: “You have seen what I did to Egypt, and that I have borne you on the wings of eagles and brought you to Me. And now, if you hearken well to Me and observe My covenant, you shall be to Me the most treasured of all peoples … You shall be to Me a kingdom of ministers and a holy nation.”
