| | Red Zones Ease - NY Update, November 9, 2020 | | Agudath Israel shares positive news - Orange and Rockland County zones have been further eased and Brooklyn red zones have all been upgraded to orange zones. In orange zones, non-essential businesses may open (unless high-risk), and houses of worship may increase capacity, as described here. This follows news from Governor Cuomo on Oct. 21 easing restrictions in Queens and Far Rockaway; creating a path forward for schools to remain open regardless of their zone on Oct. 30 and shrinking the red zone in Brooklyn on Nov. 6. Moreover, reporting of positivity rates by zip code has resumed on the NYC site, a measure of transparency that Agudath Israel and others have repeatedly requested. Agudath Israel thanks NYS and NYC for these moves. There is still work to be done, and this has been an incredibly challenging ordeal for all of us. But our communities are moving in the right direction, and government is working with us to ease restrictions when safe and practicable. We urge continued testing and mask wearing, both proven tools to identify and minimize spread. We need our shuls, schools and businesses open! | | The PCS IT Desktop and Network Support Course open house will take place on November 11, 7:30 pm at PCS, 1771 Madison Avenue, Lakewood, New Jersey 08701.
