Subject: [chicago-aneinu] Say your Tehillim on Shabbos - Covid List

BS"D

Dear Aneinu Members,

A week has passed since the tragedy in Meron. Rabbi Elimelech Biderman shlita said that during shiva people tend to say, if the niftar wouldn't have gone to such and such place they wouldn't have died. Rav Biderman said that this is apikorsus. He didn't die because he went to this and this place. Rather, since it was meant to be that he die, he therefore ended up in that place. This tragedy was determined on Rosh Hashana and everything happens the way it is meant to according to Hashem's will.

Rav Biderman goes on to say that there were hundreds of stories of Hashgacha pratis as well. He speaks about a man whose shoe was  too big and it fell off.  He jumped up to be able to get his foot back into the shoe and because of the crush of the crowd he was unable to land back on the ground. He was stuck with his head elevated above the crowd and was therefore able to breathe. If he had attempted to jump a moment later he wouldn't have been able to jump and would have been crushed. A moment earlier, and he would have fallen on the ground and been crushed. On Friday he noticed bruises on his body. He showed them to Hatzalah members who told him that if he would have been a half a centimeter lower his vital organs would have been crushed. Everything is with hashgacha pratis and we have no understanding in this.

Rav Biderman finished by saying this is a test of our emunah and when Hashem tests us he believes in us that we will withstand the test. We will remember that He runs the world and is the Father of mercy who dwells on high.  Hashem is watching us. May we be zoche to pass our tests and be able to soon greet Mashiach and celebrate together in Yerushalayim.
