Hailing from Brooklyn, NY, Avital is delighted to call Cambridge her new home. Avital works at Dana-Farber's Genetics and Prevention Division as a genetic testing coordinator and also serves as the clergy intern for the Orthodox students at Harvard Hillel. After receiving her B.A. in biology at Stern College, Avital spent a year studying Yeshiva University's Graduate Program in Advanced Talmudic Studies (GPATS). Avital has lectured across the US on different topics in Jewish studies including Tanakh, Halakha, Ancient Jewish History, ethics and values, and archaeology. Avital has studied in many Batei Midrash in both Israel and the US including the Stella K. Abraham Beit Midrash for Women at Migdal Oz, Camp Moshava IO, Camp Stone, and the Drisha Institute for Jewish Education.
