After the angel tells Mano'ach that he should listen to everything that his wife told him regarding how to raise their future son, Shimshon, Mano'ach offers to prepare a kid goat for the angel. As the possuk makes clear, Mano'ach did not realize this was an angel. The angel responds that he will not eat. If Mano'ach would like, the angel suggests, a burnt offering for Hashem would be fitting. At that point Manoach asked, “What is your name?” The angel responded, 'Why is it that you ask for my name?”
