News from the Agudah:

  • COPE Education is a key resource in helping men and women get the education they need to enter the workforce. See below for more details on the new men's day classes starting November 8th.

  • In honor of Meseches Rosh Hashanah the Daf Yomi commission of Agudas Yisroel is excited to present a series of community shiurim, featuring a fascinating presentation 'Avenues of the Sky'. Next week's shiurim will be in Lakewood and Spring Valley. See below for more details and schedule.

Avenues of the Sky
The Daf Yomi commission of Agudas Yisroel is excited to present a series of community shiurim on the occasion of Daf Yomi's learning of Meseches Rosh Hashanah. The shiurim will feature a fascinating audio-visual presentation 'Avenues of the Sky' which covers the positioning of the constellations, moon, and planet sightings, using the North Star as a navigation tool, solar and lunar eclipses, and understanding the paths of the Sun.

The series, will be presented live and in person by Rabbi Shea Hertz Ostreicher, Director, Avenues of the Sky-Torah Planetarium Institute.

Chicago Bnos Groups Starting Again
During the past 18 months, Bnos Agudath Israel of Chicago – entering its 59th year of Torah programming – has had to keep in touch with its Bnos girls mainly through numerous remote activities and programs. These have included 3 Bnos Call-a-Bubby programs, 2 Bnos Pesach Mitzvah Matzos and Sukkos Mitzvah Maidel programs (with hundreds of girls earning special prizes for their participation), an informative and enjoyable weekly Newsletter and a recent Ice-Skating activity at the Robert Crown Ice Rink. Yet, the heart of Bnos programming – its Shabbos Groups – were still not possible and were very sorely missed by hundreds and hundreds of girls throughout the greater Chicago Jewish community. Boruch Hashem, starting Parshas Vayeirah, BNOS SHABBOS GROUPS ARE BACK!. Groups will be meeting from 2:00 – 3:00 at seven area shuls and Bnos girls will be able to meet with their friends to spend an exciting hour of games, songs, stories and much much more.
