| By the Grace of G-d 19 Kislev, The New Year of Chassidism | The 19th and 20th of Kislev (this year Tue. and Wed., December 9-10) are widely marked as the "birth date" of Chassidim, when the long-hidden secrets of Judaism emerged from the womb of mysticism to illuminate and transform the totality of Jewish life. | Celebrated worldwide as the "Rosh Hashanah of Chassidism," these days are marked with personal and communal learning, as well as public gatherings (farbrengens) to explore and apply the "inner soul" of Torah to our daily lives. | On this day, we also begin anew the daily study cycle of the Tanya, that hallowed and famous guide to inner life known as "the Tanya." The daily Tanya cycle is also part of a larger daily Torah study program known as "Chitas" (see below). | Would you like to benefit from the Tanya's priceless treasures? Check out the resources below. Join a short daily class to discover a whole new you! | | | | Check out this four-minute video by master animator Hershey Sufrin: Get to know the wonderful practice of learning Chitas.
