Tougher COVID Restrictions to Go Into Effect in Chicago Dear Neighbor, Governor J.B. Pritzker ordered today that new coronavirus restrictions will soon go into effect for the City of Chicago. Beginning on Friday, indoor dining and bar service will be prohibited throughout the city, and gatherings will be limited to 25 people. Chicago has seen sustained increases in COVID-19 hospitalizations and test positivity rate, triggering the stricter rules.   Chicago is averaging nearly 800 new cases of COVID-19 a day—a 40 percent increase in just a week. We are trending in the wrong direction. The only way we are going to turn this around is if every single one of us follows the rules. Practice social distancing, strictly limit social gatherings, wash your hands frequently, and always wear a face covering when in public. Your life quite literally depends on it.
