BRI WEEKLY UPDATES
With deep sorrow and profound grief, we announce the passing of HaRav HaChassid Shimon Shapira, son of Reb Shmuel Shapira. I had the privilege of knowing him personally over 60 years ago when he was still a young man. A truly great loss.

Yehi Zichro Baruch - May his memory be a blessing.

I'm currently on my way back from a special journey where I had the privilege of meeting wonderful Jews. It was truly inspiring to see the spark of Rebbe Nachman everywhere I went: in the New York area—Far Rockaway, Lakewood, Flatbush, and Monsey—and in the Florida area—Hollywood, Boca Raton, Miami Beach, and North Miami Beach.

Attached are some photos from the journey:
Mazal tov! This past Shabbat, my great-granddaughter was born – a daughter to my granddaughter Tzippy Koenig, daughter of my daughter Miriam. May her parents and grandparents merit to experience immense holy joy!

BRI TORAH TIDBITS
"And may HaShem grant you the blessings"

Reb Noson asks the well-known question: how could it be that Yitzchak Avinu was mistaken to the extent of wanting to bestow the blessings upon the wicked Esav? He answers that, in truth, Yaakov, who was immersed in the tent of Torah, needed nothing of this world. If Esav had merited to support Yaakov, the blessings would have rightfully been his. However, Esav, the wicked, had no intention of supporting him; all he wanted was to deceive his father to receive the blessings.

Rebbe Nachman teaches in Torah 71, Part 2, that true charity brings influence from the Noam HaElyon (Upper Delight). Everyone can merit this influence and the blessings of Yitzchak Avinu, provided they give charity sincerely for the sake of HaShem's honor, and not, Chas VeShalom, for their own honor. The more one increases HaShem's honor, the more one will be granted immense abundance beyond measure.

May it be HaShem's will that we truly merit to increase charity and honor to HaShem, which is, after all, the purpose of creation.

Shabbat Shalom,

Chaim Kramer
