School Tour with Senator Laura Fine and Representative Jennifer Gong-Gershowitz Rabbi Shlomo Soroka arranged a school tour of Hillel Torah for Senator Laura Fine and Representative Jennifer Gong-Gershowitz. Hillel Torah is one of a half dozen Orthodox schools in their districts. Rabbi Menachem Linzer and Mrs. Karin Felix led the legislators through the school, showcasing Hillel Torah's emphasis on values, warm environment and high quality academics. The tour was followed by a roundtable conversation with school leadership, including Mr. Dov Shandalov, Hillel Torah's business administrator, as well as Rabbi Shlomo Soroka and Rabbi Leonard Matanky, Dean of Ida Crown Jewish Academy.  Various topics were discussed, including the future of Illinois' Invest in Kids tax credit scholarship program.
